Cancer and the Worm

"As a CFRI PhD student, Jennifer Grants has found her model organism. It’s tiny, fully grown only about two millimeters long. But what C. elegans lacks in size this transparent roundworm more than makes up for as a powerful tool in medical genetics research."

Ms. Jennifer Grants is a Graduate Student in the Medical Genetics Program at the University of British Columbia. She is supervised by Dr. Stefan Taubert at the Centre for Molecular Medicine & Therapeutics.

Data Point to Healthier Babies

"A summer spent searching for plant samples in wetlands north of Toronto helped Magda Price find her research direction. Now as a CFRI PhD student she’s collecting and analyzing data that will help ensure babies’ healthy journey from conception to birth."

Ms. E. Magda Price is a Graduate Student in the Reproductive & Developmental Science Program at the University of British Columbia. She is supervised by Dr. Wendy Robinson in the Reproductive & Health Pregnancy cluster.
