Mini Med School X - Conception, birth and beyond: The challenges of life's beginnings

Blame it on your parents Q & A

Q: How does pre-pregnancy behaviors/diet affect the baby? E.g. A lifetime of fast food but a healthy diet during pregnancy, is it too late?

A: During the session “Blame it on your parents” we heard that pre-pregnancy behaviors/diet may affect the baby by modifying maternal and the fetal gene expression. The timing off these events is not clear and it is conceivable that pregnancy behaviors/diet may affect the baby as much as pre-pregnancy events.
