Throughout the academic year, The Child and Family Research Institute is host to a number of regular seminars as well as special events that enhance the learning experience of faculty and trainees alike. Some of these are presented under the auspices of individual research programs while others are institute-wide and span clinical and basic science interests.
TGIF Series
At the "Thank God it's Friday" (TGIF) Seminar Series, research talks are presented by students, post doctoral fellows, local scientists, and international visiting scientists. The format is either two half hour seminars, or a one hour seminar with questions and discussion encouraged from the audience. TGIF is held most Fridays from 4 - 5 pm, is organized by the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics (CMMT), and is sponsored jointly by CMMT and the Department of Medical Genetics.
In addition to the above listed events, individual labs participate in Journal Club meetings and Department Seminars. Check with your lab manager or supervisor for more information.
